Question 49 - The age Ahaziah was……….!

2 Kings 8:26 NKJV - "Ahaziah was twenty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Athaliah the granddaughter of Omri, king of Israel."

2 Chronicles 21:19-20 NKJV - "Then it happened in the course of time, after the end of two years, that his intestines came out because of his sickness; so he died in severe pain. And his people made no burning for him, like the burning for his fathers. He was thirty-two years old when he became king. He reigned in Jerusalem eight years and, to no one's sorrow, departed. However they buried him in the City of David, but not in the tombs of the kings." 2 Chronicles 22:1 NKJV - "Then the inhabitants of Jerusalem made Ahaziah his youngest son king in his place, for the raiders who came with the Arabians into the camp had killed all the older sons. So Ahaziah the son of Jehoram, king of Judah, reigned."

2 Chronicles 22:2 NKJV - "Ahaziah was forty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Athaliah the granddaughter of Omri."

 [The verses here given will show that Ahaziah was forty-two when he came to the throne on his father’s death at the age of forty. The son was thus two years older than his father!]

Answer:

                Ahaziah was 22 years old when he became king is correct because 2 Chronicles 22:1 says that Ahaziah was youngest son of Joharam.  2 Chronicles 22:2 is determined as the scribal mistake. It would have happened while transmission from one scroll to another scroll. In these days, in which the people exploit with the knowledge of science and proud that there is no God. W.P. Ball, G.W.Foote, John Bowden, Richard M.Smith, and others (Atheists) did printing mistakes in the book the Bible handbook.

                It is not good to say that the entire book is fault by basing on 1 or 2 printing mistakes. How can we say that the entire Holy Bible is unholy, blasphemous and untrue conversation by basing on small scribal mistakes or translation mistakes of the translator from one scroll to another scroll?
