Luke 24:50-51 NKJV - And He led them out as far as Bethany, and He lifted up His hands and blessed them. Now it came to pass, while He blessed them, that He was parted from them and carried up into heaven. (From Bethany)
Acts 1:9, 12 NKJV - Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. ... Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day's journey. (From Mt Olivet)
Mark 16:14, 19 NKJV - Later He appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table; and He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen. ... So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God. (From a house in Jerusalem)
Matthew 28:16-20 NKJV - Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them. When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted. And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, "teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen. (From Galilee)
Answer:
Where did the Lord Christ carry up? Was it from the Bethany or near Mt Olive or Jerusalem or Galilee? Jerusalem is near Bethany in which the Mount Olive was also present. John 11:18, “Now Bethany was near Jerusalem, about two miles away”. Did not they come to Jerusalem? Bethany, Mount Olive, and Galilee are the areas of Jerusalem city.
First, Jesus appeared to his disciples at home in Jerusalem. Then He went to Mt Olive with them. From there He ascended to heaven, because the scripture says that “after He is done talking to the disciples at home He ascended to heaven”, it does not indicate that He ascended from home. Mark did not specifically mention how exactly it has happened but other gospel writers did. Where exactly did it happen? Mt Olive is in Bethany and these places are 15 furlongs to Jerusalem which is walkable distance.
