Judges 14:19 NKJV - "Then the Spirit of the LORD came upon him mightily, and he went down to Ashkelon and killedthirty of their men”
Galatians 5:22-23 NKJV - "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law."
Answer:
The people, who were in Ashkelon, were enemies of the spirit of Jehovah. In those days virtue is, “An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth”. Refer Matthew 5: 38. Samson used this rule. In the period of the New Testament, the fruits, which were said by the Paul through the spirit of Christ, are the model qualities for the forgiveness. So, there is no relation between these two sentences.
What is the Lord’s motive for Samson’s birth? What are the fruits of the spirit of Jehovah in Judges 13:5-6? Is it not to redeem from the slavery of Philistines? When the enemies make war and exploit severely to disturb the independence of our country, is it not the fruit of the spirit to massacre the enemies completely in the combat bravely?
